ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's volleyball team has earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 13th consecutive year from the American Volleyball Coaches Association and United States Marine Corps as the honorees from the 2021-22 season were announced this afternoon.

Teams with a grade point average of 3.30 or better on a 4.0 scale – or a 4.10 on a five-point scale – are eligible for the honor.

Missouri S&T was among more than 1,200 collegiate and high school teams nationwide to earn the honor for the past season, including 158 schools from the NCAA Division II level and 11 from the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The 13 consecutive seasons in which the Miners have been presented this award matches the 10th-longest active streak among NCAA Division II institutions and second-longest among GLVC schools.

Missouri S&T finished the 2021-22 season with a record of 19-11 overall and 12-6 in GLVC play. The Green & Gold captured the second seed in the league's West Division and advanced to the postseason for the third-straight season.
