5/2/2022 11:53:00 PM

ROLLA, Mo. – Breon Michel (Colorado Springs, CO/Vista Ridge), who set the Missouri S&T single-game record for receiving yards during the 2021 season and the fifth player in program history to post a 1,000-yard season in receptions, has earned an invitation to the Kansas City Chiefs' rookie camp that will take place later this month.

The Chiefs – whose roster already includes former Miner defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton – will hold their rookie camp either on the weekend of May 6-8 or May 15-17.

Michel, a first-team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference selection and member of the Don Hansen All-America football team following the 2021 campaign, led the conference with 63 receptions for 1,092 yards and 14 touchdowns in the 2021 campaign, with the 14 touchdowns ranking among the top 10 in the nation.  He set the Miners' single-game record with 234 yards in receptions in an overtime win over Wayne State (Mich.).

He had three touchdown catches in that win and also scored three touchdowns in the Miners' win over Indianapolis, including the game-winning touchdown catch with 2:47 to play.
