ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's Shelby Ply (Rolla, MO/Rolla), a first-team All-GLVC selection during the 2022 season, has earned an additional post-season honor as she was named today to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Midwest region team.

Ply was one of seven players named to the first team, all of whom will be eligible for All-America honors.  She is the third Miner to earn all-region honors in the program's history, following Krista Haslag who was named on three occasions and Payton Gannaway (Lawrence, KS/Lawrence Free State), who was an honorable mention selection on last year's team named by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

During the 2022 season, Ply ranked among the conference leaders in hitting percentage and blocks to earn her first-team All-GLVC honor.  She recorded a school record .376 hitting percentage during the year with 214 kills and only 43 attack errors in 455 attempts while also leading the Miners with 113 blocks.  She is currently ranked second in the GLVC in hitting percentage and in blocks per set as she has 1.20 in 94 sets played this season.

In October, Ply became just the fifth player in GLVC history to earn the conference's player of the week awards on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball during the same season.  She landed the league's defensive award on Oct. 24, then won the offensive player of the week honor exactly a week later.

Ply closed the season ranked Entering the GLVC Tournament this weekend, Ply ranks fifth in assisted blocks in program history with 250 and her 96 this season was the eighth-most in a season in school history.  She also had 17 solo blocks, just outside of the top 10 for a single season in the history of the program and is tied for fifth with 41 career solo blocks.   Her All-GLVC selection this season was her second at S&T, as she was a second-team pick after the 2021 campaign.
