ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T senior Shelby Ply (Rolla, MO/Rolla) has been named as the Molten Defensive Player of the Week in Great Lakes Valley Conference volleyball after her performances in a week where the Miners won conference matches over Maryville and McKendree.

In the Miners' three-set win over Maryville, Ply matched her season high with three solo blocks and had a hand in 10 blocks in the match.  She followed that up the next day with a hand in seven blocks as the Miners downed McKendree in five sets to improve to 14-7 overall and 6-3 in the GLVC.

Along with her 17 blocks, Ply added six digs, 10 kills, three service aces and recorded a .222 hitting percentage in the two matches.

Missouri S&T returns to action Friday when it opens a weekend road trip at Indianapolis.
