Rolla, Mo. – The final homestand for the 2018 Missouri S&T women's volleyball team will feature three Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) matches in five days at S&T's Gibson Arena. S&T commences this week's action on Tuesday (Oct. 23) versus the nationally-ranked Drury Panthers in a 7 p.m. (CT) encounter. The Miners return to the court this Friday (Oct. 26) with the Truman State Bulldogs providing the opposition in S&T's annual Dig Pink match, which gets underway at 7 p.m. (CT). The final home appearance for S&T takes place this Saturday (Oct. 27) against the Quincy Hawks with a 3 p.m. (CT) opening serve as the Miners hold Senior Day to honor its three senior student-athletes on the 2018 team.
2018 Record: Missouri S&T presently boasts a 14-11 overall record and is 6-7 in the GLVC this season following a 3-2 conference road setback to Bellarmine this last Saturday (Oct. 20) at BU's Knights Hall in Louisville, Ky. The Miners, who are 4-2 at home, 4-6 on the road, and 6-3 at neutral sites this fall, began this past week's action with a 3-0 league road triumph over Southern Indiana last Friday (Oct. 19) at USI's Physical Activities Center in Evansville, Ind. S&T has currently won four of its last seven outings to date.
S&T Head Coach –
Andy Halaz (Rockhurst, 2008), 1st season, 14-11 (.560). Halaz is presently in his first season at S&T and began his current duties on Jan. 28 after serving as the director of marketing and was the outdoor director for High Performance STL Volleyball Club in St. Louis, Mo., since 2014. He coached one of the High Performance STL Volleyball Club's top teams while organizing the outdoor training program. Halaz was the lead court trainer and summer camp coordinator at Georgetown from 2009-14 after spending two seasons (2008 and 2009) at Saint Louis where he was an assistant coach and the director of volleyball operations. During his time at SLU, the Billikens won at least a share of the Atlantic 10 Conference regular season championship and were NCAA Division I Tournament participants, including making a second-round appearance in 2008. Halaz also served as an assistant coach at Rockhurst for four seasons (2004-07) and helped the Hawks to four consecutive NCAA Division II Tourney appearances.

Drury: The Panthers, who are ranked eighth in the latest (Oct. 15) American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II Coaches Top 25 Poll, have posted a 21-4 overall record and are 11-2 in the GLVC to date this season. Drury, which is led by fifth-year head coach Jenifer Bahner, has currently won seven of its last eight matches with its most recent contest being a 3-0 conference road victory over Southern Indiana this past Saturday (Oct. 20) in Evansville, Ind. The Panthers, who are 4-3 on the road, 8-0 at home, and 9-1 in neutral site contests this campaign, had their six-match winning string snapped last Friday (Oct. 19) following a 3-1 league road loss at Bellarmine in Louisville, Ky. For the 2017 season, DU was 19-12 overall and 8-10 in the GLVC's West Division.

*Truman State: The Bulldogs are 18-7 overall and 8-5 in GLVC play to date this season despite being midst a current two-match losing streak. Truman State, which is presently 3-3 in its last six contests and is among teams receiving votes in the most recent (Oct. 15) AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 Poll, lost a 3-1 conference home match to Illinois Springfield (UIS) last Friday (Oct. 19) at TSU's Pershing Arena in Kirksville, Mo., and then suffered a 3-2 league home setback to McKendree on Saturday (Oct. 20). The Bulldogs, who are coached by 10th-year head coach Ben Briney, are 5-4 on the road, 5-2 at home, and 8-1 at neutral sites this campaign. Truman State continues league action by hosting Rockhurst this Tuesday (Oct. 23) in Kirksville before visiting Missouri S&T this Friday (Oct. 26). Last season, the Bulldogs racked up a 17-15 overall record to go with a 9-9 GLVC West Division ledger.

*Quincy: The Hawks have presently posted a 12-14 overall record with a 2-11 mark in the GLVC this season. QU, under second-year head coach Abigail Moser, has dropped two straight matches after winning the previous four. The Hawks dropped a 3-1 league home decision to McKendree last Friday (Oct. 19) at the QU's Pepsi Arena in Quincy, Ill., and then was dealt a 3-0 home conference loss by Illinois Springfield (UIS) in this past Saturday's (Oct. 20) action. The Hawks are 0-7 on the road, 3-4 at home, and 9-3 at neutral sites to date this season. QU was 8-21 overall and 5-13 in the GLVC's Central Division for the 2017 campaign.

All-Time Record: The 2018 campaign represents S&T's 12th season of intercollegiate women's volleyball competition since the program's inception in 2007. The Miners have accumulated a 167-214 record (.438) to date. S&T has produced three 20 or more victories in a season – 24-10 in 2011, 22-11 in 2015, and 20-13 in 2012.
Home Finales: The Miners have compiled a 6-5 record (.545) in their final regular-season home matches dating back to the 2007 campaign. S&T dropped a 3-0 decision to Rockhurst in its 2017 home finale (11/7) but sports a 6-2 mark (.750) in its last eight such appearances to date.

Carlie Combs (O'Fallon, Mo./St. Dominic), who has amassed 1,192 career kills in 107 matches to date, needs 51 kills to tie Erin Bekebrede (1,243 kills; 2008-11) for second place on Missouri S&T's all-time kills leaders list. Combs also needs 36 more kills this season to equal her career single-season high of 332 kills which she established in 30 2015 season contests. Combs has currently compiled a team second-most 296 kills in 22 outings this season, which matches her second-highest season output at S&T ... Junior defensive specialist-libero
Corinne Stulce (St. Charles, Mo./Duchesne) is midst a current 11-match double-digit digs streak and has registered double-figure digs in all but one of her 25 matches played in this season. Stulce, who presently ranks second among the Miners' career digs leaders with 1,293 total in 77 career appearances, has posted 15 or more digs in a contest on 20 occasions this fall and 20 or more 10 times for the 2018 campaign ... Carson Talley (St. Louis, Mo./Affton) is seven total blocks shy of tying Julie Meyer (178; 2008-09) for sixth place on S&T's all-time leaders chart. Talley has presently totaled 171 career total blocks in 73 matches ... The Miners' current top two kills leaders this season, junior outside hitter
Emilee Schlader (Lewiston, Idaho/Lewiston) (328 kills) and

Sarah McGinnis (Middleton, Wis./Edgewood) has set personal career season highs in assists (650), digs (186), service aces (17), and kills (22) this fall in 25 matches to date.
2018 GLVC Volleyball Preseason Poll: S&T was picked 12th in the
2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Coaches Preseason Poll as the Miners received 55 points. Lewis was chosen as the conference's preseason favorite with 180 points and 11 first-place votes. Rockhurst picked up the other three first-place votes to go with a second-most 171 points. Rounding out the top five were Illinois Springfield (149 pts.), McKendree (128 pts.), and Bellarmine (125 pts.). Truman State (121 pts.) placed sixth proceeded by Missouri-St. Louis (115 pts.), and Indianapolis (105 pts.). Drury (99 pts.) and Southern Indiana (72 pts.) garnered ninth and 10th place, respectively. Quincy (62 pts.) finished in 11th place while Missouri S&T was 12th. The final two placings in the 14-team league poll were occupied by William Jewell (48 pts.) and Maryville (26 pts.).
2018 S&T Roster: Missouri S&T's 2018 active roster consists of three seniors, four juniors and sophomores apiece, and five freshmen. Six of the 16 student-athletes play either the outside or right-side hitter position while four others are middle hitters, three setters, two defensive specialists, and one libero. Eight individuals hail from the state of Missouri and two from Kansas. Serving as S&T's captains for the 2018 season are

2017 Record: S&T concluded the 2017 season with a 10-21 overall record, which included a fifth-place 3-15 GLVC West Division mark.
