ROLLA, Mo. – A red-hot first half propelled Missouri S&T men's basketball team to its second win of the season Saturday afternoon, as the Miners ran to a 30-point lead by halftime and went on to defeat William Woods 86-58 at Billy Key Court.

Scott's three-pointer at the 16:40 mark moved the Miners into the lead for good at 8-7, shortly before S&T went on a 9-0 run to extend a five-point lead to 14 by the eight-minute mark of the first half.
S&T led 22-17 after a basket by William Woods' DaShaun Stark with 11:05 remaining in the half, but the Miners outscored the Owls 30-5 over the balance of the first half and scored the final 10 points of the period, which ended with a lay-in by
Ervin Sarajlic (St. Louis, MO/Oakville) off an assist from
Allante Pickens (Chicago, IL/Curie).
William Woods got no closer than 24 in the second half as the Miners had an advantage of as many as 33 points at one point and ended a four-game losing streak in the process.

Chris Harris (Antioch, IL/Lake Forest Academy) finished with 12 points,
Sebastian Ferenc (Zgierz, Poland/) and Pickens had 11 apiece and Sarajlic finished with 10. The Miners hit 12 three-pointers in the game and outrebounded the Owls 35-32.
