ROLLA, Mo. – After playing to a scoreless tie against one of the projected top teams in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, Missouri S&T's men's soccer team will head north this weekend to begin a four-game stretch away from home.

The Miners open the four-game swing Friday with a contest at Wisconsin-Parkside starting at 10 a.m. in Kenosha, Wis., then play again at noon Sunday when they take on Lewis in Romeoville, Ill.  S&T will complete the road stretch with games at Quincy and Truman State next weekend.

Friday's game was moved ahead two hours due to the forecast of inclement weather in southern Wisconsin later in the day on Friday.

S&T got a big performance in goal from Aaron Hohenstein (St. Louis, MO/Lutheran South), the GLVC's "Defensive Player of the Week," in Sunday's scoreless tie with Indianapolis.  Hohenstein made 11 saves in a game where the Miners were outshot 28-12, including a stop on a penalty kick in the 58th minute to keep the game scoreless against the team picked to finish second in the GLVC this season.

Hohenstein, who has played all 310 minutes in goal for the Miners thus far, has recorded a 0.29 goals against average that ranks third in the GLVC as play begins this weekend.

Felipe Andrade (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) continues to lead S&T in scoring with three goals, while Will McIntyre (Queenstown, New Zealand) has a goal and an assist for the Miners, who are 1-0-2 overall and 0-0-1 in GLVC play.

Wisconsin-Parkside opened its GLVC slate last weekend with a pair of losses, falling 3-0 to third-ranked Rockhurst and 4-1 two days later at William Jewell.  The Rangers, 2-2 overall, are paced in the scoring department by Ryan Shogren with two goals and Leki Prpa with a goal and two assists.

Remi Bibal has seen the bulk of the action in goal for the Rangers and has a 2.67 goals against average in three appearances.

Lewis also dropped both of its games to open league play last week, losing 2-1 to William Jewell and 3-1 at Rockhurst and is 1-3 heading into Friday's match with nationally-ranked Drury.

Five Flyers have scored goals this season – none with more than one – with Dvon Amoo-Mensah, Juan Elizalde and John Horstman also recording an assist to go along with the goal they have scored.  Goalkeeper Philip Huang was a 1.78 goals against average and 13 saves on the season.
