ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's swimming team will host its final home meet of the 2014-15 season Friday evening, taking on Missouri State in a dual meet at 5 p.m. at the S&T Pool in the Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building.
Friday's competition for the Miners will be their last prior to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships, which will begin Feb. 11 in Crawfordsville, Ind.
Since returning to the pool after the holiday break, the Miners have split a double dual meet with the University of California-San Diego and Colorado Mesa, while beating Truman State in a dual meet last Friday in Kirksville, Mo. The Miners won eight of the 11 events in last week's meet, as
Jon Glaser (Wildwood, Mo./Lafayette) won two events on an individual basis and had a hand in a relay win as well.
Friday's meet will also mark the final home competition for two Miners,
Aljaz Kerc (Ljubljana, Slovenia/Gimnazija Bezigrad) and
Ryan Layne (Houston, Texas/Cypress Creek); the duo will be honored prior to the start of the meet.
Missouri State has won four dual meets during the 2014-15 season, including one over Truman State a day after the Miners beat the Bulldogs. The Bears are competing at Drury in a dual meet Thursday prior to taking on the Miners Friday night.
