ROLLA, Mo. – After picking up an important Great Lakes Valley Conference win Sunday at Truman State, Missouri S&T's men's soccer team is back in action at home for a pair of league contests this weekend.

The Miners, 3-4-1 overall and 2-3-1 in GLVC play, will face one of the GLVC's top teams to date in Missouri-St. Louis Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Allgood-Bailey Stadium, followed by a visit from Maryville Sunday at 2:30 p.m.  The Miners and Maryville are among a pack of five teams that are tied for seventh in the league standings following last week's action.

S&T snapped a four-game winless streak Sunday as it got goals from Martin Klevjer (Trondheim, Norway) and Maxi Fuchs (Munich, Germany) to win 2-1 at Truman.  Klevjer scored late in the first half and Fuchs scored his goal midway through the second to give S&T a two-goal lead, which then turned out to be the decisive goal after the Bulldogs had cut the lead in half by converting a penalty kick.

The Miners have had six different players score goals this season, led by the two posted by Mitch Morris (O'Fallon, Mo./Fort Zumwalt West)James Holloway (Cape Girardeau, Mo./Notre Dame Regional), who made three saves in goal Sunday, has a 1.68 goals against average heading into this weekend's action.

Missouri-St. Louis is currently tied with Rockhurst for second in the GLVC with a record of 5-1 and is 6-1-1 overall on the year.   The Tritons, who suffered their first loss last Friday when they fell 1-0 to Rockhurst, have scored in their other seven games of the year, including a nine-goal outburst the last time they played in Rolla during the season's opening weekend when they faced Southwest Baptist.

Nick Lenkman has recorded five shutouts and owns a 0.65 goals against average, while a trio of players – Nick Werner, Leo Sanchez and DJ Bednar – all have three goals apiece.

Maryville is 3-3-3 overall and 2-3-1 in the GLVC head into its game Friday at Drury.  The Saints, who have scored just five goals since posting seven in a season-opening win over Southwest Baptist, have gotten two goals each from Lance Kohler, Nick Doherty and Ryan Butchart.  Eddie Starr has a 1.38 goals against average in the nets.
