ROLLA, Mo. – A challenging weekend awaits Missouri S&T's men's soccer team, as it will take on an undefeated nationally ranked team to open a two-game road trip as well as another team ranked in the top half of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

The Miners, 2-3-1 on the season and 1-2-1 in the GLVC, will take on Quincy University Friday at 7:30 p.m., before heading west to play Truman State in a 2:30 p.m. contest.  The Hawks are ranked 11th in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll with a 7-0 record, while Truman State is 3-1-1 on the year with a 2-1-1 conference mark.

S&T opened last weekend by playing to a 1-1 tie against Saint Joseph's, as Eduardo Abichabki (Sao Jose do Rio Pardo, Brazil/Colegio Unigrau) scored for the first time this season on an assist from Martin Klevjer (Trondheim, Norway/) in the game's 69th minute.  The Pumas tied the game eight minutes later before the teams played the next 34 minutes without a goal, then on Sunday, the Miners fell behind in the fourth minute of action and ended up falling 4-0 to Indianapolis.

Mitch Morris (O'Fallon, Mo./Fort Zumwalt West) continues to lead the Miners in scoring with two goals, while Abichabki, David Zdvorak (Kansas City, Mo./Park Hill HS) and Ben Emnett (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis University HS) have also scored for S&T.  James Holloway (Cape Girardeau, Mo./Notre Dame Regional) has a 1.26 goals against average with 24 saves in goal.

Quincy improved to 7-0 on the season by pulling out a 1-0 win over  McKendree Sunday, its sixth shutout in seven contests.  The Hawks have outscored their seven foes 21-2 on the year and by a 10-0 margin in conference play; they have blanked each of their last five opponents.

Xjpvamo Dokaj, the reigning "Player of the Week" in the GLVC, had the only Hawk goals in both weekend victories and is tied for the conference lead with six goals; he also heads the GLVC with 17 points on a league-high five assists.  Jordan Roberts has also scored six times for the Hawks and Ethan Venvertloh has three tallies.

Goalkeeper Drew Duncan has recorded a 0.29 goals against average with 19 saves over the first seven contests.

Truman State lost for the first time this season in a 2-1 setback at Bellarmine on Sunday, as the Knights got the winning tally on an own goal in the 57th minute.    The two goals allowed by the Bulldogs were the first two they have given up all season after four shutouts to begin the year.

Corey Nolte has scored twice for the Bulldogs this season, while goalkeeper Drew Garrone has a 0.38 goals against average in five starts with 15 saves.

Quincy beat the Miners twice last season, winning 3-0 in Rolla and 1-0 in Quincy in the opening round of the GLVC Tournament. S&T and Truman played to a scoreless tie in the first-ever GLVC matchup between the squads.
