Box Score ROLLA, Mo. – The sixth overtime game of the season for Missouri S&T's men's soccer team ended in a
scoreless tie Friday night, as the Miners and Truman State pitched zeroes on the scoreboard for 110 minutes in the Great Lakes Valley Conference clash.
The tight contest was virtually even in just about every regard, as each team had 11 shots and six on goal, while Truman had one more corner kick opportunity. It was a game in which the goalkeepers – S&T's
Matt Jackson (Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City West) and Truman's Drew Garrone – stole the spotlight with a number of big saves.
Jackson made two huge saves in the first half to keep the game scoreless, stopping Nick Tolmais' open try in the 22
nd minute of play and making another a little over five minutes later on Matt Langley.
Garrone made his big stops in the second half, fending off two shot by
David Zdvorak (Kansas City, Mo./Park Hill HS) in the first 10 minutes of the half as well as
Ryan Lawhead (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon Township)'s head ball try in the 69
th minute.
The Bulldogs (6-3-2, 4-3-2 GLVC) had one golden chance early in the second half when Austin Hayden hit the goal post.
Missouri S&T (5-4-2, 4-3-2 GLVC) will host Quincy Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the S&T Soccer Field.
