                    Box Score (Liberty, Mo.) – Julie Meyer (Marthasville, Mo./St. Francis Borgia), 
Krista Haslag (Linn, Mo./Helias ) and 
Hayley Wright (Omaha, Neb./Millard West) combined for 50 of Missouri S&T's 63 kills helping the Miners break a two-game skid with 
3-1 (25-16, 25-23, 24-26, 25-17) win at William Jewell on Saturday. S&T (17-12, 13-3 GLVC) hit .260 for the match and maintained its one-match lead over Rockhurst for the top spot in the GLVC's West Division. The Hawks defeated Drury 3-1 on Sat.
The Miners were down 3-2 in the opening set before a 5-0 run gave them a lead they wouldn't relinquish. They led by as many as nine points in the frame and had 18 kills in 45 swings to hit .356 percent. Wright had seven kills in the set while Meyer had four, Haslag added three and 
Katie McDonald (Orland Park, Ill./Providence Catholic) and 
Kelly Kosmopolis (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon Township) had two apiece. S&T held the Cardinals (12-16, 6-10 GLVC) to a .133 hitting percentage in the stanza.
The second set was tied 10-all, before WJC scored three straight to take a 13-10 lead. The Miners scored five of the next six points to regain the lead at 15-14. The Cardinals tied it again at 16-all, but S&T answered with five of the next seven points to take a 21-18 lead. The Miners extended the lead to 24-21 on a kill by Haslag, but WJC got back-to-back points to close to 24-23. Wright ended the set on the next swing with a kill for the 25-23 win. S&T hit .271 percent in the frame and had 17 kills. Meyer and Haslag had five apiece while Wright added four more.
The Cardinals stormed out of the gate in the third set taking a 9-2 lead and forced the Miners to take a timeout. After that break S&T scored seven of the next nine points to close to within 11-9. William Jewell continued to hold the Miners off and held a 23-20 advantage. S&T took advantage of back-to-back errors by the Cardinals and a kill from Meyer to tie the set up at 23-all. Jewell regained the lead on a kill by Carrie King, but Haslag recorded a kill on the next swing to even it back up at 24-all. The Cardinals won the final two points on back-to-back kills from Hannah Herndon and Cailynn Hayter to force a fourth set. The Miners had 15 kills in the set but committed seven errors to finish hitting .160 percent. Haslag and Meyer combined for 11 kills in the frame.
In the fourth set S&T trailed 3-2 before going on a 12-1 run to take a commanding 14-4 lead.  Jewell would close to within 16-9, but the Miners quickly responded with four of the next five points to grab a 20-10 advantage. They would eventually win 25-17. S&T hit .263 percent in the set and had 13 kills. Meyer and Haslag had nine of those. Defensively the Miners held the Cardinals to a .075 hitting percentage and forced them into seven errors.
Meyer had a match-high 19 kills while Haslag added 18 and Wright finished with 13. 
Jennifer Costello (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway South ) dished out 50 assists and had 23 digs. 
Jocelyn DeMotte (Topeka, Kan./Hayden) had 23 digs as well. 
Emily Jaeger (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph's Academy) had 16 digs and Meyer added 14 digs. As a team, S&T finished the match with 11 total blocks.
The Cardinals were led by Herndon's 15 kills. Hayter had 40 assists and Katie Damgar dug up 28 balls. WJC finished the match hitting .167 percent and had 52 kills.
The Miners close out the regular season with a pair of home matches next weekend beginning with a match against Illinois Springfield on Friday night at 7 p.m.
