Box Score (Aurora, Ill.) – The Missouri S&T volleyball team dropped its second match on Friday to Northwood, 3-0 (19-25, 24-26, 18-25) at the Great Lakes Center in Aurora, Ill. Just like in its first match against Grand Valley on Friday, S&T (13-7) had problems containing the Timberwolves (15-4) offense in the nightcap.

Northwood held a 5-4 advantage early in the match before a 5-1 run put them in front 10-5. The Miners trailed 13-7 before scoring five straight points to get within a point. The Timberwolves pushed their lead back to five at 17-12 behind back-to-back kills from Kristin Perschon and two straight aces from Juliia Pakhomenko. S&T again cut into the deficit cutting it to two points at 18-16, but would get no closer as Northwood ended the set by scoring seven of the final 10 points.

In the second set there was only one lead bigger than a point until the end. The Miners held a 20-18 advantage after a ball handling error was called on Jordan Dunn. The 'Wolves responded scoring four of the next five points to take a 22-21 lead. The two sides then traded service errors over the next three serves as Northwood continued to hold a 23-22 edge. Northwood grabbed a 24-23 lead on a kill by Pakhomenko. A block by Krista Haslag (Linn, Mo./Helias ) tied it back up at 24-all, but Pakhomenko and Ally Hoomaian recorded back-to-back kills to end the set 26-24 in favor of the Timberwolves.

The third set played out exactly like the first two with the two sides trading points. Northwood held an 18-17 advantage and ended the match by scoring seven of the final eight points to win 25-18.
