ROLLA, Mo. -- Missouri S&T senior
Colleen Conrad (Mogadore, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary's ) finished eighth in the overall field as the Lady Miner cross country team finished fifth in the Jackling Jocks Invitational held Saturday at the S&T Golf Course.
Conrad completed the five-kilometer course in a time of 18:44 to head a Lady Miner contingent that had its top five runners among the top 39 overall.
Mindy Lake (Sapulpa, Okla./Sapulpa) was the next S&T runner to cross the finish line in 25th place in 19:43, while
Alyson Smith (Scott Air Force Base, Ill./Mascoutah) was 34th in an even 20 minutes.
Lisa Lake (Sapulpa, Okla./Sapulpa) finished in 38th place in a time of 20:10 and
Rachel Feist (Tulsa, Okla./Jenks) rounded out the Lady Miners' top five in 41st in 20:12. The next two S&T runners to cross the finish line were
Diane Strong (Jackson, Mo./Jackson) in 43rd place in 20:23 and
Brenda Ellis (Olathe, Kan./Olathe East) in 46th in a time of 20:31.
Harding won the team competition by three points over Pittsburg State, scoring 71 points to the Gorillas' 74. Missouri Southern finished third overall and had the meet's individual champion in Marlee Tegenkamp, who finished with a time of 17:56 to edge Northwest Missouri State's Katti Carroll by six seconds.
S&T's next competition will be at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships on Oct. 22 in Evansville, Ind.
