ROLLA, Mo. -- Missouri S&T's men's cross country team had three of the top 20 finishers in the overall field and took fourth as a team at the Jackling Jocks Invitational Saturday at the S&T Golf Course.
S&T's contingent was headed by
David Huskisson (Kirksville, Mo./Kirksville), who ended up in 12th place with a time of 26:10 in the five-mile race. The other top 20 finishers were
Jacob Tayloe (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls), who was 16th in 26:15 and
Wynn McClellan (Jackson, Mo./Notre Dame), who came in 19th place in a time of 26:25.
The Miners' other finishers in their top five were
Chris Marchman (Sheridan, Ark./Sheridan), who had a time of 26:44 to finish in 30th place and
Danny Deposki (St. Louis, Mo./Lindbergh), who was 34th in 26:54. The next two runners for S&T were
Greg Gibson (Jackson, Mo./Jackson), who was 49th in 27:18 and
Brett Conway (Troy, Ill./Triad), who placed 59th in 27:49.
Harding's Philip Biwott won the individual title with a time of 25:19, while Missouri Southern had three of the top five finishers in the meet as it captured the team title with a score of 37 points. Northwest Missouri State came in second and Harding was third ahead of S&T's fourth place showing.
The Miners' next competition is slated to take place Oct. 22 at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships in Evansville, Ind.
