ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- A week after knocking off the nation's top-ranked team in a thrilling contest, Missouri S&T's men's soccer team -- ranked seventh in NCAA Division II -- lost for the second time in succession as Missouri-St. Louis blanked the Miners Sunday by a count of 4-0.

The Miners entered Sunday's matchup with wins in 12 of the prior 15 meetings with the Tritons, but had a tough time getting going on the offensive end during the first 45 minutes of play.  In the meantime, UMSL got a goal from Luc Wells at the 23:37 mark of the opening half and carried that 1-0 lead to the break.

S&T had just one shot in the first half, then suddenly faced a two-goal deficit when Wells tallied his second goal of the contest 6:22 into the second half.  The Miners began to perk up on the offensive side as they got four shots over the next 19 minutes, but at the 70:40 mark, UMSL's Jordan Bruce put a shot past S&T goalkeeper Pat McNamee (Fenton, Mo./Vianney ) to make it 3-0.

The Tritons added a fourth goal in the final seconds from Almin Sabotic for the final margin.

UMSL (5-2-3, 4-2-3 GLVC) had a 14-11 advantage in shots for the contest and had eight shots on goal to S&T's four.  The Miners had three corner kick chances in the game.

S&T, 7-3 overall and 5-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, will return home next weekend to face Illinois Springfield Friday in a 7:30 p.m. contest.
