ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- Missouri S&T's five-game unbeaten streak in men's soccer came to an end Sunday as Lewis scored two first half goal and held off the Miners' second half rally to post a 2-1 win in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.

The 19th-ranked Flyers got goals from Jose Ibarra at the 20:43 mark and Craig McIntosh at 38:32 to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission.

Lewis outshot the Miners 10-3 in the first half, but S&T turned the tables in the final 45 minutes as it got 10 shots off to the Flyers' two.

The Miners got on the scoreboard nearly 16 minutes into the period when Zack Hay (Springfield, Mo./Kickapoo) scored off assists from Mario Calderon (Mexico City, Mexico/ITESM) and Sam Shaffer (St. Louis, Mo./Oakville). S&T got five more shots on net during the second half, but Lewis keeper Anthony Szymel turned away the Miner efforts for the tying goal.

The loss was the first for the Miners since a 3-1 loss at Northern Kentucky on Sept. 21 and dropped their records to 6-5-3 overall and 4-2-3 in GLVC play.
