Missouri S&T's men's soccer team opened its home schedule Friday by playing toe-to-toe with a good Christian Brothers team, but the visitors from Memphis got the only goal of the game to come away with a
1-0 win at the S&T Soccer Field.
The Miners outshot the Buccaneers 6-4 in a scoreless first half. CBU had a great scoring chance in the early moments of the the second half when Rasaq Kuteyi ripped a shot that Miner goalkeeper
Pat McNamee (Fenton, Mo./Vianney ) went to his left to turn away.
However, CBU (1-1-1) got the only goal of the game a short time later when Jack Richardson got a shot away in a crowd that got past McNamee.
S&T was outshot by a 13-12 margin for the game as McNamee finished with eight saves in a solid performance in the nets.
