A member of the Miner track & field team, Lux was a conference champion who established records in five events during his career – including three that stood for a generation. He won MIAA championships on two occasions in the outdoor 800-meter run, where he posted a record time of 1:51.03 and two more in the indoor 600-yard run at 1:11.36. Lux also established a conference record in the process of winning the 800-meter title at the 1981 MIAA Championships. He was a three-time national qualifier in the middle distance events and a three-time selection as the team’s most valuable player.
