McNamee was one of the first All-America selections in the history of the Missouri S&T men's soccer program as part of a record-setting career in goal for the Miners. In his four seasons in the program, McNamee established the career standards with 26 shutouts, including nine in the 2010 season to helping lead the team to its first Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season championship and first berth into the NCAA Division II Tournament. McNamee recorded a 0.94 goals against average in his career and had a 0.67 mark during the 2010 season when he earned his All-America honor, ranking eighth in NCAA Division II in that category for the year.
