Wise established the school's career record for total offense during his four seasons with the Miners, racking up a total of 4,225 yards. He posted the second-highest single-season total at the time with 1,840 yards in the 1991 season as he threw for 3,072 yards from the quarterback position. Wise also became the first quarterback in school history to rush and pass for more than 100 yards in the same game when he did so in a 1991 victory at Washburn. He also played a season of baseball for the Miners, leading them with a .353 batting average in 1992.
