Breuer earned one letter competing for the rifle team, but had greater accomplishments in baseball where he reached the major league level.  The Rolla native pitched for five seasons and in two World Series for the New York Yankees.  He was also the winning pitcher in the sixth game of the 1938 Junior World Series for a Kansas City team that won the championship.
