Clark was a three-year letterman in football as a running back and punter.  He rushed for 1,709 yards in his career and led the team in that category in the 1969 and 1971 seasons, while his punting average of 37 yards per kick was one of the best in school history.  He also earned a letter as a catcher for the baseball team and batted over .300 in that season.
