Missouri S&T Athletics

Stout was a two-sport student-athlete for the Miners and earned all-conference honors in both sports. He established the school record in the javelin throw during his tenure in the track and field program, breaking the school record in three of the four seasons he competed with a top mark of 208-7 during his senior year. He won two MIAA championships in the event and finished as the conference runner-up in his other two seasons of competition in the javelin. In football, he earned all-conference status as a defensive end in the 1968 and 1969 seasons while also spending some time on the offensive line.
