Brueggeman was an anchor for the Miners’ MIAA championship men’s basketball team in the 1995-96 season, earning second-team all-conference honors following that campaign where the Miners finished 25-6 and reached the championship game of the NCAA Division II South Central Regional.  He earned All-MIAA status in three of his four seasons as a Miner and was also named as the conference’s All-Freshman team during his career, one in which he recorded 1,122 points, 712 rebounds and a then-school record 156 blocked shots.  Brueggeman ranked among the MIAA leaders in rebounding, blocked shots and field goal percentage while also recording 21 double-doubles during his Miner career.
