Brown completed his four-year career in the Miner basketball program as a two-time all-conference selection in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, earning the honor after his final two seasons of play. He scored 1,092 points during his career with the Miners and was a force in the middle, shooting 54.3 percent from the field in 97 career games and averaging better than five rebounds per game during that span. Brown twice led the team in field goal percentage for a season and had two campaigns where he averaged in double figures, including the 1992-93 campaign where he was the team's second-leading scorer with an average of 16.6 points per contest; he scored 11.2 per game for his career.
