Heath was a four-time member of the All-MIAA football team, twice as a first-team selection and twice on the second team.  He had 18 career interceptions and led the team in kickoff returning for three straight years.  During the Miners’ undefeated season in 1980, when he served as a team captain, Heath returned two punts for touchdowns.  He also competed in track & field and was named to the MSM/UMR Centennial Football team in 1993.
