Miner Dome
The Miner Dome serves as the indoor practice facility for Missouri S&T’s athletic teams. Built in 2010, the facility provides a location for S&T’s outdoor teams to practice in the event of inclement weather or poor field conditions as a result of the weather.
The Miner Dome was made possible due to gifts totaling $650,000 from Keith and Pat Bailey, John and Kristie Gibson and Steve and Gwen Malcolm, all of Tulsa, Okla. Keith Bailey, a former Miner football player and Gibson, who played on the S&T men’s basketball team, are members of the university's Athletic Hall of Fame.
Prior to the construction of the Miner Dome, the Miner athletic teams held indoor practices in the Miner Recreation Building, but that facility was renovated and now houses university's design teams and other campus entities. When the S&T teams practiced at the Miner Rec building, it was affectionately known as the “Miner Dome” by the student-athletes and that name was been carried over to the new indoor facility.
