ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's track & field standout
Katlyn Meier (Vienna, Mo./Maries R-1), who captured the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship in the 400-meter hurdles at the league's outdoor meet earlier this month, was named today to the Capital One Academic All-District team for the 2015 season.
Meier, whose selection to the all-district team makes her eligible for Academic All-America honors, won the conference title in the 400-hurdles in a school record time of 1:01.65 to help the Lady Miners finish fourth at the GLVC's outdoor meet this season. She also added a sixth place finish in the 100-meters and ran on both of the Lady Miner relay teams at the conference meet, including being the anchor of the 4x400-meter quartet that placed third and set a school record in the event of 3:53.04.
During the indoor season, Meier – a biological sciences major at S&T – placed fourth in the 400-meters and sixth in the 200-meter dash while leading off the 4x400-meter relay team that finished in fourth place.
Meier recorded the Lady Miners' top time during the outdoor season in the 100-meters and 400-meter hurdles and in the 60- and 200-meter events during the indoor campaign. She was selected as the team's most valuable player for the outdoor season at the M-Club Awards Banquet in early May.
